Ok so today I had this idea to curate a bunch of my favorite love poems for this mailing list for Valentines Day, but then I realized that it would be like 65% Frank O’Hara, this one Louise Glück poem (or maybe this other Louise Glück poem) and then I would spend hours obsessing over the “right” other poems to comprise the final 30%. And I don’t really want to spend my night that way, I want to eat dinner and then leaf through the book on tarot and mysticism I just bought.
So instead I am just leaving you with this, because it has been stuck in my head all day and it’s the ideal love song for all of us who are incredibly sentimental but also a little embarrassed by this fact. Bless Stephin Merritt for every single lyric:
